Extreme WoodCare believes the beauty and durability of any sealant job depends on the quality of the stain and the proper surface preparation. To accomplish this, wood must
be properly cured, restored, dried and sealed. Extreme WoodCare will take extra precaution in covering all existing plants, swimming pools, and pool equipment.
Curing
Most new wood should be allowed to cure for 4-6 weeks to bring the moisture content down to an acceptable level, which allows the pores to open and
the Extreme WoodCare Sealant to penetrate the wood for a better quality seal. All exterior wood should be sealed within 5-6 weeks.
Restoration
If you haven't had your fence sealed and it has started to gray, mold, and mildew it can still be restored. In this case it can be cleaned with sodium hypochlorite (a strong oxidizing agent) to remove the dirt, fungus, mold and mildew that is trapped below the wood's surface.
The wood is then allowed to dry for 36-48 hours before our special Extreme WoodCare sealant is applied.
Sealant
This is a minimum two-coat wet-on-wet process that is applied using an airless spray pump system.
Cleanup
All driveways and concrete areas will be washed after application. All gate hardware and metal poles will be cleaned with mineral spirits to remove any sealant.
